Saudade is a portuguese word. It represents a complex emotional state of deep longing and nostalgia for something or someone dear, but currently absent.
Created in 2020, inspired by texts read during the pandemic, especially those by the brazilian journalist Conceição Freitas, in an attempt to understand this collective and confusing experience.
The illustrations talk about loneliness, isolation and the will to live.
